Jack Hoschouer is a Photographer living in southern Minnesota.
I got my first “grown up” 35mm single lens reflex camera in 1970 when I was in the Army in Vietnam. I taught myself how to develop and print black and white images. After returning to the U.S., I did my first experiments with color film processing.
In a series of homes and apartments, I set up darkrooms in the bathrooms. Although the frequent moves associated with military life forced me to pack up my enlarger and developing trays I continued to photograph things and people that interested me. This led to winning first prize in a local photo club and another first prize in a national contest sponsored by a major distiller.
I transitioned to digital formats for a trip back to Vietnam in 2017. I shoot portraits, head shots, families and pets. I do special events for businesses, churches; events such as holiday parties, corporate recognition, school graduation and charity events.
